Naramata Bench Pinot Noir Cycle Tour
It is a 9:00 a.m. Penticton departure. We cycle up along the Naramata Bench to our first stop at Serendipity Winery. Their Pinot Noir is aged 3 years in older barrels. It has a great nose with dark black cherry, plum, rose petals and earthy notes. The taste is full and lingering with flavors of juicy ripe fruit, cranberries and butterscotch.
Next we cycle to Howling Bluff Estate Winery. The Howling Bluff 2008 Estate Pinot Noir was the red wine of the year in 2010 by Wine Access Magazine. The 2010 Three Sisters Vineyard Pinot Noir is light and charming with strawberries in the aroma and cherries on the palate.
We will stop at The Bistro at Hillside winery for lunch. Chef Rob Cordonier and his team focus on the local bounty creating wonderful and exciting dishes.
Next to La Frenz Winery to taste a rich structured wine with layer upon layer of red dark fruits, sweet supple oak vanillins all interwoven around it silky grains tannin core. Enjoy the old hundred dollar bill view.
Next we cycle to Upper Bench Estate Winery & Cheese. Their Pinot Noir has aromas of strawberries; raspberries and campfire, bright red currant, strawberry with a hint of tobacco excite the tongue, while silky tannins coat the palate before a long black currant caramel finish.
The tour finishes with a cycle or transport to the lakefront in Penticton.
Other Varietals may be tried if not tasting Pinot Noir.
A Support Van is along the route to pick you or your wine purchases up as needed… so non- cyclists can join their cyclist friends on the same tour!
